Stewart<\/strong>,\u00a0You are what you wear\u00a0:\u00a0Appearanceand Being in Jean Genet\u2019s Works<br \/>\nPlut\u00f4t qu&#8217;une opposition entre l&#8217;apparence et la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 soulign\u00e9e par bien des critiques, une analyse de l&#8217;\u0153uvre de Genet r\u00e9v\u00e8le une \u00e9quivalence entre l&#8217;\u00eatre et l&#8217;apparence. Un exemple choisi parmi beaucoup serait Mignon, dans\u00a0<em>Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs<\/em>, qui, ayant \u00e9chang\u00e9 ses v\u00eatements de cellule contre d&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e9gants costumes de souteneur, est ravi par sa transformation en enfant-mac. Car, conclut Genet, \u00abL&#8217;\u00e2me de la gouape r\u00e2leuse est rest\u00e9e dans la d\u00e9froque\u00bb.
