\"\"<\/a>This year marks the bicentenary of Mary Shelley\u2019s\u00a0Frankenstein<\/i>,<\/strong> a novel that, while published 200 years ago, continues to enthral readers and critics in the present day. “Frankenreads”<\/strong> consist of a series of events,\u00a0organized by the Inter-university Centre for Romantic Studies (CISR)<\/em> of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with the Departments of ARTS (DAR)<\/em>, the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures (LILEC)<\/strong><\/a> of the University of Bologna, Cineteca of Bologna, Palazzo Poggi Museum<\/strong><\/a>, Istituzione Biblioteche di Bologna<\/strong><\/a> (Archiginnasio <\/a><\/strong>and Salaborsa<\/strong><\/a>),<\/strong> Arena del Sole (ERT)<\/strong><\/a>, City Red Bus\u00a0<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>Bologna City Council<\/strong>, with the aim of paying homage to a great writer and of marking the anniversary of her masterpiece.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frankenreads started on 30th October 2018<\/strong> at the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures (LILEC)<\/strong><\/a> of the University of Bologna, with the opening of a literary exhibition<\/strong> about Mary Shelley and her Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus<\/em>, immediately followed by a reading of the novel<\/strong>, led by teachers and students,\u00a0<\/span>and by the prizegiving of the creative writing contest<\/strong>.
\n<\/span>The contest\u00a0<\/strong>addressed to secondary school students, was organized in collaboration with Sonia Selleri (Liceo Fermi, Bologna). The Frankenstein<\/span> contest<\/strong> attracted the interest of several secondary schools of Bologna and many students contributed with enthusiasm and creativity. The results were very really extraordinary, and the following four students were selected as winners<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n
